Stenciling Your Layouts

Stenciling is a popular in many different crafts but seems to be an untapped resource in the world of scrapbooking. Not only are stencils a very versatile tool when it comes to layouts, but they’re remarkably affordable as well. Stencils can be used with a number of different mediums like paint, markers, ink, colored pencils and so on.

Their versatility also extends to what they can be used for such as creating borders, frames, backgrounds, monograms, repeating patterns, and the list goes on and on.

The appeal of stencils is understandable. Scrapbookers who may be new to stencils will probably be just as pleased with them as the many other hobbyists who’ve used them.

As I mentioned earlier they are very affordable. In combination with the fact that they’re very safe to use makes parents of young crafters very fond of them. They would be the perfect tool purchase for young scrapbookers, people new to scrapbooking or the seasoned pro.

Their ease of use and versatility makes them popular with crafters both young and old. As mentioned earlier you can use them to create just about anything with just about any medium. You could literally create and entire layout with just stencils. You can also use them on your album cover.

The fact that stencils are so widely available adds to their already enormous popularity and is sure to please scrapbookers. It can sometimes be difficult to find a particular scrapbooking tool just when you need it. With stencils, the likelihood of that happening if you looking for a stencil is much less.

Although there may be certain stencils that are more uncommon that could be difficult to find, in general I think you would have good luck.

And if you needed any more reasons to try them out, the fact that they are very light-weight and take up very little space. Whether you scrapbook at home or on the go, that’s sure to put a smile on your face.

Overall, for any scrapbooker who hasn’t given stencils a try I would highly recommend them. You will probably find, as have many other scrapbookers and crafters, that they will very quickly become one of your new, favorite tools.
